- The manual for the Commodore 20002 monitor does not give the pin-outs
- for the RGB cable needed to connect to a computer. The 2002 monitor can
- display 15khz RGB graphics, digital RGB, NTSC composite, and S-Video and
- is especially useful for video work using an Amiga. To connect to the
- Amiga's 23-pin (male) video port, you would need a 23-pin (female)
- connector on one end and a 9-pin (female) connector on the other end.
- The pin-outs are shown below:
-
- (23-pin Amiga (2002 RGB 9-pin port) (Signal)
- video port)
-
- 3 3 Red
- 4 4 Green
- 5 5 Blue
- 10 7 Composite Sync
- 16,17,18,19,20 1,2 Ground
-
- All other pins are NOT connected.
-
- With this information you should be able to build your own cable or have
- a cable company make a cable for you. The most difficult part is to get
- a 23-pin female DB connector.
-
- Also, the 2002 monitor is very versatile. Besides handling analog RGB
- (what the Amiga has always output), the 2002 also handles digital RGB
- (both positive and negative), NTSC composite (using an RCA-type 2-wire
- connector), and S-Video (using a non-standard 2 RCA-type 2-wire
- connectors, one for luma and one for chroma, instead of the standard
- 4-pin S-Video connector).
-
- The 2002 monitor will work nicely with an unexpaned Amiga CD32 (which
- does not have an analog RGB port), because the CD32 has both composite
- and S-Video ports. However, the CD32's S-Video port uses a standard
- 4-pin S-Video connector. 4-pin S-Video cables can be purchased at Radio
- Shack. One end can be modified to two RCA-type connectors for luma and
- chroma.
-
- For further info on building this (simple) cable, send me e-mail.
